'CITIES UNDER THE SAND' SHORT FILM RELEASE

I am very happy to share my short film "Cities Under the Sand." It has been a very personal and moving journey, an ode to mortality and nostalgia.

Many years ago, I inherited boxes and boxes of old footage that my Uncle Frank shot in the 50's. It wasn't until years later, when I was working on Roger Waters' Wall Tour that we were looking for unusual stock footage to use for the edit of "Another Brick in the Wall Part 3." I mentioned that I had tons of footage from my uncle that we could use. "Well, where is it?," I was asked. And I replied, "In my parents' basement." That weekend I went home and sent the boxes off to California to be telecined. There were over 24 hours worth of footage and Roger paid for the costly film transfer in exchange for its use. I am honored to say that images of my family are forever on the wall!

That being said, it took me another couple years to go through all the old reels. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it until I came across an old recording of my sister Sharon singing in my childhood home.

I hope you find the piece as moving as I did.
